Head of Category Management Construction

About the role

The Head of Category Management Construction leads strategic procurement for construction‑related categories, aligning sourcing initiatives with Abu Dhabi Airports' business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the annual procurement plan for assigned categories, ensuring efficient delivery within budget and timelines.
• Conduct spend, revenue, market analysis and benchmarking to identify cost‑saving and revenue‑generating opportunities.
• Lead the full procurement lifecycle from tender preparation to contract execution, negotiating optimal terms.
• Maintain compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements and delegated authority.
• Coach and develop a team of procurement professionals, focusing on Emiratization and performance management.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, advising on sourcing requirements and resolving contractual issues.
• Support HSE initiatives and ensure team participation in mandatory training.

Required profile

• Master's degree or equivalent in Strategic Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, IT, Data Science, Business Administration, Law or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of strategic procurement experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in aviation or similar industry sectors and proven track record in category management.
• Strong analytical background with data‑driven decision‑making capability.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of procurement principles, processes and tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using ERP and sourcing/procurement systems.
• Contract negotiation and supplier relationship management expertise.
