MCV Structural Engineer

About the role

The MCV Structural Engineer will develop grillage and sea‑fastening designs for project cargo, ensuring safe marine transport and compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop grillage and sea‑fastening designs, including steel structures and load‑spreading arrangements.
• Prepare structural calculations, FEM analyses, and design reports.
• Support project teams during loadout, lifting, securing, and discharge operations with on‑site engineering supervision.
• Conduct structural inspections of fabricated materials and ensure compliance with approved drawings.
• Liaise with classification societies for design approval and manage engineering submissions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and communicate technical requirements to clients, subcontractors, and shipyards.
• Prepare project execution reports, monitor schedules, and contribute to cost‑control activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine/Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in structural design, marine operations, transport & installation, or heavy‑lift projects.
• Excellent analytical, communication and decision‑making skills, with ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally for port calls and project operations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with structural design tools such as STAAD, SACS, ANSYS, Autodesk products.
• Strong competency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with grillage/sea‑fastening, loadout engineering and verification of heavy cargo.
• Familiarity with classification societies (DNV, ABS, LR) and IMO standards.
