Head of Department – Business Studies

About the role

Wesgreen International School in Sharjah is seeking an experienced Head of Department for Business Studies. This senior leadership position will oversee curriculum delivery, student progress, and departmental operations within a vibrant, internationally‑focused learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Business Studies department, ensuring high‑quality teaching and learning.
• Plan, develop and monitor the curriculum for GCSE and A‑Level (or equivalent) programmes.
• Track student progress, analyse data and implement interventions to improve outcomes.
• Coordinate extracurricular activities and contribute to the wider school community.
• Engage with parents, staff and external stakeholders to promote the department’s vision.

Required profile

• Relevant degree (B.Ed, PGCE/PGDE or equivalent) with strong subject knowledge.
• Significant experience teaching GCSE/A‑Level Business Studies, preferably in an international British‑curriculum setting.
• Proven record of outstanding teaching and learning practice.
• Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities.
• Creative, enthusiastic and able to inspire both students and staff.
