About the role
The Head of English will lead the English department, shaping curriculum and assessment to align with the school's mission and vision. This senior teaching position oversees both vertical and horizontal planning across the school.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the department in developing and improving teaching and learning.
- Establish priorities and goals that support the school's Mission and Vision.
- Plan curriculum, develop and maintain schemes of work in collaboration with colleagues (vertical and horizontal planning).
- Maintain and develop assessment practices, including oral assessment, standardisation and moderation strategies.
- Analyse and evaluate examination and student performance data and report results to the Middle and Secondary School Leadership Team.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning within the department in line with school policy.
- Recommend appropriate professional development for department teachers.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Science.
