Head of Finance – Ecommerce & Private Equity

About the role

Ecomma, a Dubai‑based private equity firm that scales ecommerce brands, is looking for a Head of Finance to own the finance function across the group. You will be the primary finance representative to investors, banks and M&A counterparties while working closely with leadership on strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function for the holding company and all portfolio entities, managing one accountant.
• Produce fast, accurate monthly management accounts and consolidated reports per brand, entity and group.
• Build and maintain budgets, rolling forecasts and cash‑flow models for leadership and investors.
• Prepare investor updates, due‑diligence materials and support M&A conversations.
• Ensure compliance for UAE corporate tax/VAT, Hong Kong filings, and US federal/state taxes.
• Implement AI‑driven automation for reconciliations, categorisation, anomaly detection and reporting.
• Manage banking, payment providers, FX, inter‑company settlements and group liquidity.
• Establish audit‑ready processes, approval flows and internal controls.

Required profile

• 6+ years in finance, with experience leading a finance function (Head of Finance, Finance Manager, Financial Controller).
• Multi‑entity, multi‑jurisdiction experience; exposure to UAE, Hong Kong and US is a strong plus.
• Investor‑facing experience, preparing materials and speaking with investors, lenders or M&A parties.
• Strong forecasting and financial modelling skills.
• Experience in high‑volume ecommerce environments (Shopify, Stripe, Klarna, marketplaces) is a plus.
• AI‑first mindset, already using AI tools and automation in finance work.
• Fluent English, clear communicator, high integrity, able to work on‑site in Dubai.
