Head of Finance

About the role

This Head of Finance position leads all accounting and finance activities across the business, covering accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, financial reporting and compliance with UAE regulations. The role also oversees legal and contractual matters alongside finance duties.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for leadership, and ensure timely month-end and year-end close under IFRS and UAE regulations
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance analysis, and monitor revenue, profitability, operating expenses, cash flow and working capital
• Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity, banking relationships and payment processes
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, statutory and regulatory requirements
• Maintain financial controls, policies and procedures and coordinate annual audits
• Oversee legal and contractual matters, including review and finalisation of contracts and commercial agreements
• Partner with leadership and departments on budgeting, cost management, strategic initiatives, partnerships and growth
• Develop scalable finance processes, automate where possible, and optimise finance systems, reporting tools and KPI dashboards
• Lead and develop the finance team with strong financial governance, accuracy and accountability

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, CA or equivalent
• 6-10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including 2-4 years in a finance management or leadership role
• Experience in Insurance, InsurTech, FinTech, Financial Services or Technology sectors
• Experience managing legal and contractual matters, including contract review and finalisation
• Experience in HR-related functions is an added advantage

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT and UAE Corporate Tax
• Financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial modelling
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis
• Leadership, communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving
