Head of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Strategy

About the role

A holding group operating in FMCG manufacturing, trading and distribution in the UAE is looking for a Head of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Strategy. The role reports to the Group CEO / Board of Directors and leads Strategy Managers, M&A analysts and project teams. It identifies, evaluates and executes growth opportunities through acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and organic initiatives, driving market expansion, portfolio diversification and shareholder value.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Group's long-term strategic planning in line with board objectives, analyse FMCG trends and competitor strategies in the UAE and GCC, and identify new product lines, regional expansion and vertical integration opportunities.
• Source and evaluate acquisition, partnership and divestment opportunities, lead due diligence (financial, operational, legal, regulatory), negotiate deal terms and manage post-deal integration.
• Build financial models for acquisitions, joint ventures and investments, assess ROI, payback and risk, and prepare board-ready investment proposals.
• Engage investment banks, consultants, private equity firms and government agencies, and represent the Group in negotiations and industry events.
• Oversee projects such as supply chain consolidation, digital transformation and new market entries, working with the COO and other functional heads.
• Report regularly to the board on the M&A pipeline and strategic initiatives, and ensure compliance with UAE laws and competition regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
• 12-15 years' experience in strategy, M&A or corporate development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• FMCG experience in the UAE/GCC highly preferred.
• Proven track record of closing mid-to-large scale acquisitions and integrations.
