Head of Post 16

About the role

LEAMS Education is seeking an experienced and inspirational Head of Post 16 to lead the Sixth Form provision at its British‑curriculum school in Dubai. The role combines strategic leadership with day‑to‑day management of AS and A‑Level programmes, aiming to deliver outstanding academic results and prepare students for university and future careers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the strategic vision for the Post‑16/Sixth Form provision.
• Oversee academic outcomes for AS & A‑Level pathways and other post‑16 routes.
• Ensure high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment in line with the National Curriculum for England and examination board standards.
• Monitor student progress, attendance, behaviour and wellbeing, and intervene when necessary.
• Lead curriculum planning, quality assurance, data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coach, mentor and develop teaching staff through observations, feedback and professional development.
• Foster a positive Sixth Form culture focused on academic excellence, student leadership and personal development.
• Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team on school improvement priorities.
• Strengthen university guidance, careers education and student destination planning.
• Build strong relationships with students, parents and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Recognised Master’s degree and a teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed. or equivalent).
• Preferably a Master’s in Education or Leadership.
• Significant leadership experience within a British‑curriculum school.
• Senior AS/A‑Level teaching experience with a proven record of managing successful Post‑16 cohorts.
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for England, A‑Level pathways and assessment requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to raise student achievement through effective curriculum leadership.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire teams.
• Experience in the UAE or GCC education sector is desirable.
