Head Of Student Success Unit

About the role

The Head of the Student Success Unit will lead the development and execution of strategies that improve academic progress, engagement, retention and graduation rates for university students. Reporting to senior university leadership, this role ensures that early‑alert systems, individualized support plans and integration programs are effectively coordinated across academic and administrative units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Student Success Unit, aligning its plans with the university’s strategic objectives.
• Design, implement and monitor student success strategies, early‑alert mechanisms and intervention programs.
• Coordinate with deans, department chairs and faculty to develop individualized support plans for at‑risk students.
• Oversee case‑management procedures, referrals, follow‑up and closure of student support cases.
• Manage orientation, transition and integration initiatives for new students.
• Develop workshops and activities that enhance student skills and personal development.
• Analyse performance data and success indicators to continuously improve services.
• Prepare regular reports on unit performance, program outcomes and student satisfaction.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in higher‑education student support or related services.
• Strong understanding of student retention, early‑alert systems and academic advising processes.
• Excellent collaboration skills with academic and administrative stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse data, generate insights and drive continuous improvement.
• Effective communication and reporting abilities.
