Head of User Engagement and Services, University Library

About the role

Provide strategic and operational leadership for the University Library's engagement with students, faculty, researchers and the wider university community. Ensure library services are user‑centered, accessible, innovative and aligned with teaching, learning and research priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Library's strategy for user engagement, experience and service delivery.
• Oversee short‑ and long‑term development plans, user services, communication and guidance programs.
• Lead design and implementation of staff training, performance evaluation and job description alignment.
• Drive a modern, integrated, user‑centered service model across physical and virtual environments.
• Identify innovative measures, benchmark against leading libraries and propose AI‑enabled solutions.
• Prepare periodic reports on workflow progress, achievements and future plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s in Library and Information Science preferred.
• At least 5 years of progressive professional library experience, including supervisory or leadership roles in an academic or research library.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and developing strategic programs supporting institutional objectives.
• Strong communication, negotiation, decision‑making and partnership‑building skills.
