Head of Year – FS 2 (KG1)

About the role

We are seeking an outstanding Head of Year to lead FS 2 (KG1) at GEMS Cambridge International Private School Sharjah. The post holder will be responsible for tracking student progress, curriculum planning, and supporting the Behaviour for Learning Policy while engaging with parents to uphold the school’s vision.

Key responsibilities

• Articulate a clear vision for the year group aligned with the school’s ethos.
• Lead, manage and evaluate the academic and pastoral progress of all students in FS 2.
• Contribute to school‑wide planning, resource management, policy development and implementation.
• Ensure high expectations and standards across all aspects of school life.
• Collaborate with Class and Form Tutors to use baseline data for informed teaching.
• Work with Heads of Subject Areas to maintain curriculum consistency and foster innovation.
• Develop and monitor Personal Learning Plans for under‑achieving students in partnership with Inclusion and Student Welfare teams.
• Oversee assessment, recording and reporting procedures in line with whole‑school policy.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a primary‑school setting.
• Strong communication skills with staff, students and parents.
• Ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable teaching strategies.
• Commitment to the school’s vision, ethos and high‑standard expectations.
