Health, Safety & Environmental Officer (HSEW)

About the role

The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Officer will support AtkinsRéalis sites in the UAE by ensuring compliance with internal HSE management systems, project requirements, and local legislation. You will act as the primary point of contact for safety matters, coordinating with contractors, sub‑contractors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor AtkinsRéalis HSE procedures and project‑specific safety requirements.
• Conduct daily site HSE tours, safety training, and weekly safety meetings.
• Issue Safety Enforcement Notices (SEN) and follow up on corrective actions.
• Review and comment on contractor HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Develop and maintain HSE documentation such as safety files, risk assessments, and registers.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, compile reports and statistics.
• Escalate critical safety issues to the Project Manager and UAE Health & Safety Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum HSE qualifications with NEBOSH Diploma or IGC.
• Lead auditor training for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Professional membership (IIRSM or IOSH) preferred.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Experience supervising site safety in the Middle East is mandatory.
