Health & Safety Trainer – Workplace Safety

About the role

The Health & Safety Trainer is responsible for delivering and continuously improving workplace safety training across EMSTEEL operations. The role ensures that all employees and contractors understand regulatory requirements, critical controls, and safe work practices.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate field implementation of corporate health and safety programs.
• Develop and deliver in‑house training packages covering Permit to Work, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Live Equipment, Hot Work, and Lifting Operations.
• Provide coaching and on‑the‑job training for supervisory staff.
• Conduct gas analysis and feasibility studies to enhance training methodology.
• Perform periodic site visits to assess training effectiveness and produce monthly training reports.
• Prepare the annual training schedule, Training Needs Analysis, and performance evaluation reports.
• Represent the HSSE Department in improvement meetings and support a positive safety culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
• Minimum 7 years of health and safety experience, including hands‑on field work and training delivery.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) and Train‑the‑Trainer certification (mandatory).
• ADASOH Practitioner certification (highly preferred).
