Host / Hostess

About the role

The Host / Hostess welcomes guests on arrival, manages the immediate front-of-house flow and ensures a warm, polished first impression in line with the food and beverage group's standards. As one of the first points of contact, the role covers guest greetings, reservations and waitlists, table allocation and coordination with the service team. It is a full-time position based in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly on arrival and acknowledge departing guests courteously, keeping calm and friendly during busy periods.
• Manage reservations, walk-ins and waitlists accurately across approved booking channels and systems, and support table allocation and seating flow.
• Give accurate wait time guidance and update guests professionally on delays or changes.
• Answer guest phone calls and basic enquiries, escort guests to their tables, present menus where required and pass on guest requests and preferences to the floor team.
• Escalate complaints or operational issues promptly to the manager on duty.
• Keep the host stand, entrance and waiting area clean and organised, and maintain accurate reservation records and guest notes.

Required profile

• 1-3 years' experience in a host/hostess, reception, guest-facing or front-of-house role in hospitality, restaurants, cafés or hotels.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, confident guest-facing manner.
• Ability to stay calm, organised and professional under pressure during busy service periods.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience using reservation platforms or booking systems is an advantage.
