Hostess - F&B Outlets

About the role

Sofitel Dubai the Obelisk, part of the Wafi Mall extension and close to Raffles Dubai, is looking for a Hostess to welcome guests at its F&B outlets. The role welcomes guests, handles table reservations and controls the flow of guests so that the restaurant can turn over efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly, guide them and seat them at their table
• Take telephone bookings and keep the reservations book clear and organised
• Assist in setting up tables and displays
• Maintain and update the guest database
• Resolve guest complaints where possible and report incidents to the supervisor
• Keep the hostess station, surrounding areas and menus clean
• Prepare operational material in the back office and learn safety, sanitation and hygiene policies
• Present checks to guests and cash if needed
• Control guest flow to ensure maximum turnover
• Help with quarterly, bi-yearly and yearly inventory of operating equipment
• Train waitstaff and bus staff in hostess standards
• Ensure the restaurant, wait staff and tables are ready before opening

Required profile

• Hotel restaurant management graduate
• 1 year of hotel experience in F&B
• Excellent reading, writing and oral English
• Well-presented and professionally groomed
• Strong interpersonal skills and good rapport with guests
• Full knowledge of the restaurant's seating and table plan
