Hotel Technician

About the role

Grosvenor House Dubai and Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa is hiring a Technician in Dubai. The role covers responding to guest repair requests, carrying out preventive maintenance and basic repairs across the property, and keeping guests informed about maintenance issues.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests, communicating clearly with guests and customers
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
• Inspect tools, equipment and machines visually, identify and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, switches and outlets, and guestroom items
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before any maintenance work
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems
• Enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and follow safety, security and company policies

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus
• No supervisory experience required
• Driver's license
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds alone, climb stairs and ladders, and work with overhead and low-reaching tasks

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry and kitchen equipment
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules
