HR Manager – Group Schools (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

International Community Schools (ICS) is looking for an experienced Group HR Manager to lead and strengthen the Human Resources function across its network of schools in Abu Dhabi. This senior role will shape HR strategy, policies and processes to support both operational and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a group‑wide HR strategy aligned with the organisation’s vision.
• Standardise HR policies, procedures, employee handbooks and internal guidelines across all campuses.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, probation, promotion, transfer, succession planning and employee exit processes.
• Advise senior management, principals and department heads on workforce planning, organisational structure and employee relations.
• Design and manage performance appraisal, staff development, employee engagement and retention initiatives.
• Ensure consistent, fair application of HR policies and manage grievances, disciplinary matters and investigations.
• Maintain accurate employee records, organisational charts, job descriptions and staffing data.
• Prepare HR dashboards and reports on recruitment, turnover, attendance, vacancies and performance.
• Ensure compliance with UAE Labour Law, regulatory requirements, safeguarding standards and internal school policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
• Professional HR certification (CIPD, SHRM or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, including managerial or leadership roles.
• Proven experience developing HR policies, procedures, systems and organisational frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of UAE Labour Law and local employment practices.
• Experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, workforce planning and HR operations.
• Background in a multi‑site educational institution or school group is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic proficiency is a significant advantage.
• High standards of professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
