HR Manager (School)

About the role

GEMS Metropole School – Al Waha is looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead the human‑resources function within a K‑12 environment. Reporting to the Principal/CEO and working with the School Support Centre and HR Business Partner, you will oversee the full employee life‑cycle, from recruitment to off‑boarding.

Key responsibilities

• Drive recruitment and onboarding for teaching and non‑teaching positions, including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and preparing contracts in line with GEMS policies and UAE Labour Law.
• Coordinate new‑hire logistics such as travel, welcome communications, induction sessions and completion of paperwork (bank, insurance, access cards).
• Administer day‑to‑day HR operations, maintain up‑to‑date employee files, manage benefits liaison and produce NOCs, salary certificates and transfer letters using Dynamics 365.
• Maintain and update the HRIS database, employee handbook and support ERP projects with HR system requirements.
• Provide advice on school policies, ensure compliance and track approval workflows across departments.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading HR functions in a school or similar educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of UAE Labour Law and GEMS HR policies.
• Ability to work closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) for contract and payroll administration.
• HRIS and ERP system familiarity.
• Proficiency in preparing employment documentation in English and Arabic.
