HSE Manager

About the role

An experienced and proactive HSE Manager is sought to lead, implement and monitor Health, Safety and Environmental programmes in line with UAE regulations and international standards. The role drives a safety culture, ensures regulatory compliance and oversees HSE activities across projects and operations. The position is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve HSE policies, procedures and programmes; lead and mentor HSE teams and promote a strong HSE culture.
• Ensure compliance with UAE Federal and Emirate-level HSE laws, including ADNOC, EHSMS, OSHA, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and stay up to date with local and international regulations.
• Carry out HSE risk assessments, incident investigations and audits, identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor and report HSE KPIs and performance metrics.
• Develop and deliver HSE training for staff and contractors, covering policies, procedures and emergency response plans.
• Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances and share lessons learned.
• Oversee environmental management, including waste management, pollution control and sustainability initiatives.
• Evaluate contractor and vendor HSE performance and interface with regulators and external auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 15 years of progressive HSE experience in the UAE, preferably in oil & gas, construction or industry.
• Proven experience leading HSE teams and managing large-scale projects.
• Certification such as NEBOSH International Diploma, IOSH or equivalent is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, ADNOC standards, OSHA, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work under pressure on multiple projects.
