HSE Officer – Dredging & Marine Projects

About the role

The HSE Officer will support the NMDC project HSE Manager in delivering safe and environmentally responsible dredging and marine projects. The role ensures compliance with health, safety and environmental standards while protecting the surrounding community and ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the HSE Management System (HSEMS) across the project.
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and random spot checks to enforce zero‑tolerance policies for unsafe practices.
• Lead incident and accident investigations, analyse root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Supervise subcontractors and on‑site teams on safety matters.
• Coordinate and deliver HSE training programmes for project personnel.
• Maintain HSE registers, incident reports, lessons‑learned databases and compile weekly HSE statistics.
• Support the Project Manager in achieving HSE targets and ensuring compliance with JSA, toolbox meetings and other safety procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Professional HSE qualification such as NEBOSH or OSHA.
• Experience in dredging, marine or related construction environments.
• Knowledge of the ISM Code, applicable regulations, codes and standards.
