HSE Senior Engineer

About the role

ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC is hiring an HSE Senior Engineer in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures full compliance with TAQA, ADOSH/ADPHC and project HSE requirements at site, and covers electrical, lifting, excavation and other high-risk activities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the Project HSE plan, procedures, risk assessments and permit-to-work requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations, audits and toolbox talks, and close corrective actions on time.
• Monitor electrical, lifting, excavation, work at height, confined space, scaffolding and other high-risk activities.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor and control subcontractor HSE performance against approved requirements.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly HSE reports, statistics, KPIs and performance updates, coordinating with the client and project management.

Required profile

• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant UAE HSE experience in construction, infrastructure, power, electrical or utility projects.
• Proven experience in power transmission, distribution, substations, electrical networks and associated civil works.
• Experience on TAQA / Abu Dhabi utility projects.
• TAQA or another approved HSE Engineer in the UAE.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of TAQA HSE requirements, ADOSH/ADPHC requirements and UAE HSE legislation.
• NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 lead auditor certifications.
