HSEQ Sr. Superintendent

About the role

The HSEQ Sr. Superintendent supports the company's ship‑management operations by ensuring the highest quality, health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) standards are applied across assigned vessels. The role involves conducting vessel visits, managing inspections, and driving corrective actions to achieve operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate third‑party vessel inspections, provide pre‑vetting support to Masters, and analyse inspection deficiencies for corrective actions.
• Conduct ship visits to implement the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, perform safety, navigation, ISM, ISO and ISPS audits, and support short‑sea passages as required.
• Participate in accident and incident investigations, compile reports and assist the QHSE Manager.
• Lead navigation audits, organise external audits, review audit findings, maintain audit databases and support audit closure.
• Actively engage in ship‑shore drills, develop quarterly scenarios with Masters and ensure crew familiarity with emergency procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine or Naval Engineering (or equivalent) and a Master/Chief Engineer’s Certificate.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant maritime experience, including at least 2 years as a Master or Chief Engineer.
• Class 1 Certificate for Deck or Engine.
• At least 2 years experience in a Safety Superintendent role.
