Hydraulic Design Engineer – Commercial Trucks

About the role

The Hydraulic Design Engineer will design, develop and support hydraulic systems used in chassis manufacturing processes for commercial trucks. You will work on equipment such as hydraulic presses, fixtures, lifting systems and vehicle‑integrated hydraulic functions, ensuring reliable, efficient and safe operation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop hydraulic systems for chassis manufacturing equipment and applications.
• Create hydraulic schematics, circuit diagrams and system layouts.
• Select components (pumps, valves, cylinders, actuators) and perform calculations for pressure, flow, load and performance.
• Support installation, commissioning and troubleshooting on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance and design teams for system integration.
• Improve existing systems for efficiency, reliability and cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Work with vendors and suppliers for component sourcing and development.
• Prepare technical documentation, manuals and reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in hydraulic design, preferably in manufacturing or automotive.
• Experience with chassis manufacturing processes is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and fluid‑power principles.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and hydraulic design software.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Understanding of industrial safety standards and regulations.
