Inclusion Assistant – Support for Students with Additional Needs

About the role

The Inclusion Assistant will work closely with teachers, specialists and families to ensure that pupils with additional support needs fully participate in classroom and school activities. This role is integral to delivering the school’s inclusive ethos and supporting the implementation of Individual Education Programs (IEPs).

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils inside and outside the classroom.
• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of IEP goals.
• Prepare differentiated resources and learning materials to facilitate access to the curriculum.
• Support pupils with academic, physical, emotional and behavioural challenges, promoting independence and social skills.
• Maintain accurate pupil records and collaborate with homeroom and subject teachers.
• Work alongside speech therapists, occupational therapists and other professionals as required.
• Ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety policies, school code of conduct and confidentiality guidelines.
• Participate in training sessions, staff meetings and professional development activities.
