Income Auditor - Hotel Finance

About the role

The Income Auditor works in the Finance department of a hotel, reporting to the Financial Controller/Chief Accountant. The role plans, directs and manages the provision of accurate, timely and objective financial data for management decisions, recommends remedial action when needed and safeguards owner assets through sound internal controls. It is a team-leader position with minimal direct supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Control and distribute the hotel's daily revenue.
• Review and monitor income reports such as early check-in, late check-out, cancellation and void reports.
• Present daily paid outs, rebates and corrections for approval and file all income-related documents.
• Check and balance daily cash and paid outs against the general cashier, and daily C/L payments and credit cards against the general cashier and accounts receivable.
• Distribute C/L rebates to the appropriate accounts and provide journal vouchers for the financial controller.
• Prepare city ledger payments daily and pass them to accounts receivable for back-office payment.
• File registration cards for scanning and control complimentary rooms.
• Control daily receipts, prepare daily sales reports and leased outlet revenue reports, and conduct surprise audits of cash floats issued to cashiers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 2-3 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Ability to read, analyse and interpret business periodicals, journals, technical procedures and regulations, and to write reports, correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply mathematical operations such as frequency distribution, analysis of variance, correlation, sampling theory and factor analysis.
• Warm, welcoming personality, integrity, self-confidence, initiative, team focus and ability to delegate.
• Neat, clean and well-groomed appearance in line with Radisson standards.

Required skills

• English speaking, reading, writing and understanding; another language preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and SAP, and other applicable computer systems.
