Inspector - Civil

About the role

AECOM is hiring a full-time Inspector - Civil in Dubai for its Transportation business group. The inspector supervises the contractor on site, checks compliance with contract documents and specifications, and prepares daily reports for the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Be familiar with the project's contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications and health and safety measures, and their updates
• Ensure the contractor complies with the standards and specifications of the contract documents
• Maintain records of the contractor's daily human and equipment resources
• Carry out site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE)
• Liaise daily with the contractor on resource, health and safety and equipment matters
• Prepare daily reports covering works orders, material deliveries and the daily inspection programme
• Implement site instructions from the RE and ARE, and apply all quality control procedures
• Prepare site measurements and surveying checks for pipe alignments and levels
• Cooperate with the client project manager during site inspections in the presence of the RE or ARE
• Monitor contractor QA/QC activities and keep relevant records
• Assist the RE and ARE with correspondence in line with the contract documents
• Resolve site problems promptly with the RE or ARE
• Monitor start-up, commissioning and handover, and record project milestones
• Maintain records of materials tests and executed works, and audit inspections against contract documents and contractor plans
