Institutional Research & Data Analytics Officer

About the role

The American University in the Emirates is looking for an Officer to join its Institutional Effectiveness Department. You will support data‑driven decision‑making by collecting, validating, analysing and reporting institutional data across the university.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean, maintain and analyse institutional data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Prepare statistical and performance reports for strategic planning, accreditation and assessment.
• Develop and maintain databases, dashboards and reporting systems using BI tools.
• Respond promptly to internal and external data requests.
• Compile and submit required data to accreditation bodies, government agencies and other stakeholders.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to support research projects and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in institutional research, data analytics, reporting or business intelligence, preferably in higher education.
• Strong research, analytical and database‑management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Statistical software: SPSS, R, Python.
• Business intelligence and visualization tools: Power BI, Tableau.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Data‑visualisation and reporting techniques.
