Instrument & Control Technician

About the role

Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation Company LLC, a member of the Juman Energy Group, is looking for an Instrument & Control Technician in Abu Dhabi. The company has worked on oil and gas projects for almost 20 years, serving ADNOC and Tier 1 and Tier 2 EPC contractors, and provides full EPC&M services for electrical and instrumentation works.

Key responsibilities

• Install field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow and level transmitters, gauges, switches, analyzers, control valves) according to P&IDs, loop diagrams and hook-up drawings.
• Lay, route and terminate instrument and multicore cables, and install junction boxes, cable trays, glands and supports.
• Fabricate, install and pressure-test impulse lines, tubing and fittings.
• Calibrate and bench-test instruments with certified equipment, and perform continuity, point-to-point and loop checks across DCS, PLC, ESD and Fire & Gas systems.
• Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, plant start-up and performance testing, and assist with FAT/SAT.
• Diagnose and fix faults in instruments, control loops and electrical and pneumatic components, and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Support shutdowns, turnarounds and plant modifications, and work within the Permit-to-Work system and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Ensure compliance with area classification and standards such as ATEX/IECEx, API RP 500/505 and NEC/NFPA 70.
• Complete ITPs, calibration records and loop test dossiers, mark up as-built drawings and coordinate with other trades.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical or Control Engineering, or an equivalent recognized trade qualification.
• 4 to 8 years of experience as an I&C technician, including at least 2 to 3 years on oil and gas, refinery or petrochemical projects.
• Proven hands-on experience in loop checking, calibration and commissioning; construction and commissioning experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work in remote locations, use hand and power tools safely, and perform manual work.
