Internal Auditor

About the role

The Internal Auditor evaluates organizational processes, reviews financial and operational records and assesses internal controls to ensure accuracy, accountability and compliance with policies and regulations. The role covers planning and carrying out internal audits across financial, administrative, operational and compliance functions, and works closely with management, finance teams, department heads and compliance personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Review financial statements, transaction records, invoices, expense reports, payment documentation and procurement activities to verify accuracy and consistency.
• Evaluate existing policies, procedures, authorization processes and risk management practices, and identify control weaknesses.
• Monitor compliance with established procedures and the effectiveness of corrective measures.
• Prepare audit plans, working papers, findings and formal reports, and coordinate with departments to obtain information and track implementation of recommendations.
• Maintain audit documentation, conduct follow-up reviews and present findings to management when required.
• Support the development of improved audit procedures, contribute to risk assessment and help set up consistent monitoring practices.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Auditing, Risk Management or a related field.
• Understanding of internal auditing principles, financial controls, risk assessment and corporate governance.
• Ability to identify discrepancies, control weaknesses and procedural gaps, and to work independently and confidentially.
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills, with professional integrity and a continuous improvement mindset.

Required skills

• Knowledge of accounting procedures, financial documentation and transaction verification.
• Familiarity with accounting software, spreadsheets, audit documentation systems and business reporting tools.
