Internal Auditor – Natural Resources & Energy Services

About the role

BDO is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to lead risk advisory and audit engagements across the Oil & Gas, Energy, Metals & Mining, and Manufacturing sectors. You will work closely with business units to assess operational, financial, and compliance risks, and deliver actionable recommendations to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage internal audit and risk advisory projects for natural resources and energy clients.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments and evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present findings to senior stakeholders.
• Support the development and implementation of enterprise risk management frameworks.
• Monitor compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Maintain client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Mentor junior audit team members and stay updated on emerging risks and best practices.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CFA, CPA (mandatory); CIA, CFE, CISA, DISA are a plus.
• Minimum 4 years post‑qualification experience in internal audit, ICOFR, or risk advisory.
• Proven experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Metals & Mining, or Manufacturing industries.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle.
• Experience using audit software tools.
• Advanced MS Office suite skills and data‑analytics capabilities.
