Internal Controls Specialist / Manager (12-Month Contract)

About the role

Binance, a global blockchain ecosystem behind the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume and registered users, is hiring an Internal Controls Specialist/Manager for a 12-month contract. The role supports the company's risk and control culture through internal control reviews, regulatory examinations and GRC work, with a remote-first, work-from-home arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive internal control reviews to identify risks and recommend improvements.
• Support regulatory examinations and respond to external audit inquiries.
• Monitor internal control issues and actions, working with action owners to close findings on time.
• Maintain and use Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems; experience with AuditBoard is a plus.
• Collaborate across functions and teams to promote a strong risk and control culture.
• Help continuously improve internal control processes and documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in internal audit and/or industry internal controls.
• Working experience of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, including process/business controls and IT controls.
• Background in crypto, fintech or related financial services is highly beneficial.
• Experience in large publicly listed companies and scale-ups preparing for listing is an advantage; external audit experience is a plus.
• Certifications such as CPA, CIA or CISA are preferred.
• Strong communication skills; multilingual candidates are considered favourably.
• Able to work in cross-functional teams without travel.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with GRC systems; familiarity with AuditBoard is an advantage.
• Experience using agentic engineering to test controls, prepare documentation and perform analysis.
