Inventory Control Manager

About the role

The Inventory Control Manager leads stock assurance across GMG’s supermarket, pharmacy and furniture businesses, covering retail stores, warehouses, distribution centres and factories. The role ensures stock accuracy, transparency and control from count planning through reconciliation and system posting.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute end‑to‑end inventory control strategies for each business unit and site type, including annual and cyclic count calendars.
• Lead physical stock counts (full, cycle, ad‑hoc), variance analysis, shrinkage investigations and corrective actions.
• Own and govern all inventory transactions in SAP S/4HANA, SAP EWM and Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring timely posting and accurate valuation.
• Standardise processes, drive automation and digitisation, and maintain preventive controls such as cut‑off rules and negative‑stock checks.
• Build and manage KPIs, produce dashboards and present performance reports to senior management, finance and internal audit.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field; MBA or APICS CPIM/CSCP is a strong advantage.
• 12‑15 years of experience in inventory and supply chain roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP EWM and Microsoft Dynamics 365 inventory modules.
• Strong retail and warehousing exposure across supermarkets, pharmacy/health‑beauty and furniture sectors.
