Inventory Manager - Retail

About the role

PlaceUp is hiring an Inventory Manager for its retail business in Dubai. The role oversees inventory operations across stores, warehouses and distribution channels, keeping stock available and records accurate while minimising excess and obsolete inventory.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full inventory cycle, from receiving and storage to distribution and store replenishment
• Monitor stock levels across stores and warehouses and ensure optimal availability
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures, policies and best practices
• Keep inventory records accurate across ERP/POS and inventory management systems
• Coordinate stock transfers between warehouses and retail stores
• Track slow-moving, fast-moving, excess, damaged and obsolete stock
• Run regular stock counts, cycle counts and physical inventory audits, and investigate discrepancies
• Work with purchasing, warehouse, logistics, sales and retail teams to keep stock flowing smoothly
• Analyse historical sales and inventory data to support replenishment and purchasing decisions
• Monitor inventory turnover, stock availability, shrinkage and other KPIs, and prepare regular inventory reports
• Support inventory planning for new store openings, promotions, seasonal demand and product launches
• Manage and develop inventory/stock control teams where applicable

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in inventory management, preferably in retail
• Strong understanding of retail inventory processes, stock replenishment and warehouse operations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work with multiple departments and manage competing priorities

Required skills

• Experience with ERP, POS and inventory management systems
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyse large volumes of inventory data
• Understanding of inventory KPIs and stock control methodologies
