Logistics Specialist – Inbound Shipments
AW Connect
Job description
About the role
AUAE-based employer is looking for a proactive, hands-on logistics professional to take full ownership of inbound shipments, from factory readiness through to warehouse receipt. This is a fast-paced, operational role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, coordinating international shipments and building efficient processes from the ground up. The successful candidate works independently and anticipates disruptions, keeping factories, freight forwarders, warehouses and commercial teams aligned.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end inbound logistics from factories to warehouses, coordinating international shipments by sea, air and rail and choosing the most cost-effective options.
- Liaise daily with factories, freight forwarders and logistics partners, monitor shipment progress and act on delays.
- Maintain shipment tracking records including purchase orders, containers, estimated arrival dates and delivery updates.
- Record goods receipts in the ERP once factories confirm goods are ready, validate stock movements and reconcile stock with external partners.
- Tell warehouse teams expected volumes and schedules, and give sales and customer service teams accurate arrival forecasts.
- Coordinate internally to resolve shipment, inventory and delivery issues and keep stakeholders informed.
- Build centralised shipment tracking tools and reports, improve visibility and inventory accuracy, and recommend workflow improvements.
Required profile
- 3-5 years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, inbound supply chain or a similar operational role.
- Previous experience in a start-up, SME or fast-growing business.
- Experience coordinating international shipments with factories, freight forwarders and third-party logistics providers.
- Preferred: background in retail, fashion, apparel or consumer goods, familiarity with warehouse operations and 3PL providers, and experience developing logistics tracking systems.
Required skills
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, especially FOB, EXW, FCA and DDP.
- Practical knowledge of sea, air and rail freight operations.
- Hands-on ERP experience for inventory, goods receipts and stock movements.
- Strong Excel or similar skills for tracking, reporting and data reconciliation.
- Comfortable using AI tools to improve productivity and reporting.
