IT Governance Specialist

About the role

The IT Governance Specialist will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of IT governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks for our organization in Sharjah. You will work closely with cybersecurity, PMO, and operational teams to ensure alignment with national and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards in line with COBIT, ISO 38500, ITIL and other relevant frameworks.
• Monitor compliance across all departments, prepare periodic compliance reports for senior leadership, and provide corrective guidance.
• Identify, assess, and document IT risks; design and execute mitigation and treatment plans while continuously tracking risk levels.
• Support the IT and Digital Transformation strategies, evaluate project alignment with strategic goals, and contribute to policy creation for project, change, incident, asset, and business continuity management.
• Define and track KPIs, produce performance dashboards, and ensure service level agreement compliance.
• Maintain governance documentation, coordinate audit activities, and address audit findings with actionable improvements.
• Ensure adherence to Sharjah Digital Government standards and support teams in achieving digital maturity targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in IT governance, compliance, or risk management.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to draft policies and governance documentation.
