IT Infrastructure & Engineering Platforms Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Manager to lead the design, deployment and operation of secure, high‑performance IT infrastructure that supports a next‑generation aerospace programme. The role covers cloud platforms, high‑performance computing (HPC), engineering systems, networking, storage and disaster recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage sovereign cloud infrastructure with strong security, scalability and data‑residency compliance.
• Build and operate HPC environments for engineering workloads such as FEA and CFD.
• Deploy and support PLM, EDMS and MBSE platform infrastructure.
• Manage engineering compute environments, including VDI, workstations, software deployment and licensing.
• Own networking, storage, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
• Lead infrastructure projects from architecture through operational hand‑over.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevSecOps, quality and configuration‑management teams.
• Manage technology vendors and third‑party suppliers.
• Lead and mentor a small infrastructure team while remaining technically hands‑on.

Required profile

• 15+ years of IT infrastructure experience.
• 5+ years supporting engineering computing environments in aerospace, defence or similar industries.
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure in secure or sovereign environments.
• Proven expertise in HPC cluster design and operations.
• Experience supporting PLM or EDMS platforms.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder‑management skills.
