IT Procurement Engineer

About the role

CSL is seeking an IT Procurement Engineer to manage the technical and commercial evaluation of IT, cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure and software solutions, ensuring secure, scalable and cost‑effective technology for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business and security requirements into technical specifications, statements of work and RFPs.
• Research, pre‑qualify and evaluate technology vendors, products and service providers against fit, cybersecurity controls, architecture, integration, performance, licensing and TCO.
• Coordinate demos, proof‑of‑concepts, technical workshops and vendor clarifications.
• Prepare evaluation matrices, recommendation reports and procurement documentation.
• Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, finance, legal and business stakeholders throughout the procurement lifecycle.
• Support commercial negotiations by identifying technical risks, dependencies and value‑optimization opportunities.
• Review contracts, SLAs, licensing terms and support models from a technical perspective.
• Maintain vendor records, technology inventories, renewal calendars, risk registers and procurement dashboards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years experience in IT procurement, technology sourcing, solutions engineering or pre‑sales engineering.
• Practical understanding of cybersecurity, cloud services, networking, endpoints, software licensing and managed services.
• Experience developing technical requirements, evaluating bids and documenting recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical and commercial topics to varied stakeholders.
