ITS Engineer – Advanced Traffic Management System

About the role

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled ITS ATMS Software Engineer to support the Resident Engineer in all technical, administrative and operational aspects of the Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) lifecycle. You will work on development, configuration, integration, testing, commissioning and deployment of ATMS modules, ensuring seamless interaction with existing and new ITS subsystems.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise ATMS software development, configuration, integration, testing and deployment for the iTraffic NextGen platform.
• Review and approve Functional System Design Documents, Software Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents, software architecture, workflows and database designs.
• Validate software integration and system test plans, including FAT, SAT, UAT, cybersecurity, failover, performance and reliability testing.
• Ensure contractor compliance with contract documents, approved development methodologies, configuration management and cybersecurity policies.
• Monitor and coordinate software interfaces between ATMS and subsystems such as CCTV, DMS, traffic detectors, enforcement systems, C‑ITS platforms and asset management tools.
• Collaborate with contractors, developers, system integrators, RTA stakeholders and other project teams to guarantee end‑to‑end system functionality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in ITS or ATMS software engineering, covering development, integration and testing.
• Strong understanding of software configuration management and cybersecurity requirements for transportation systems.
• Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
