Jewellery Polisher

About the role

Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory (ASMEF) is hiring a full-time Jewellery Polisher in Abu Dhabi. The role covers polishing and finishing jewellery items such as rings, earrings, bracelets, charms and pins, using polishing wheels, compounds and cloths, and performing specialised finishing techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Polish and smooth jewellery items using polishing wheels and appropriate equipment.
• Select suitable polishing wheels, compounds and finishing materials according to the metal and desired finish.
• Apply polishing compounds and rouge to remove surface blemishes and achieve a smooth, lustrous finish.
• Use polishing cloths and abrasive materials to remove discoloration and improve appearance.
• Perform precision polishing on hard-to-reach areas and specialised techniques such as lapping, scratch brushing and graining.
• Remove stains, oxidation, soldering residue, rough edges and file marks while keeping each piece intact.
• Assist with plating processes involving gold, silver or other materials where required.
• Maintain tools, equipment and the work area in a clean, organised and safe condition, following quality standards and workshop procedures.
• Perform other related duties assigned by the Workshop In-Charge or General Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or relevant diploma in jewellery making, jewellery design or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in jewellery polishing or a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail, good manual dexterity and ability to work independently.
• Basic communication skills in English and Arabic are essential.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of jewellery polishing, buffing and finishing techniques.
• Experience with polishing wheels, abrasive materials, polishing compounds and different metals.
