Junior Accountant / Cashier

About the role

The Junior Accountant / Cashier handles daily cash transactions, records financial entries and maintains accurate records while supporting the Finance Department with routine accounting and administrative work. The role ensures accurate cash handling, proper documentation and timely financial reporting in line with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Cash handling: receive and process cash, card and approved payments, issue receipts, reconcile daily collections against sales records and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Bookkeeping: record daily transactions in the accounting system, assist with general ledger entries, vouchers, invoices and payments, and help with bank and petty cash reconciliations.
• Sales reconciliation: match sales with cash, card and bank transfers, follow up on missing receipts and confirmations, and verify sales reports.
• Petty cash management: keep petty cash records, process approved expenses and request replenishments.
• Reporting and support: help prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports, support month-end closing, assist with audit documents and perform basic data entry and filing.
• Compliance: follow financial policies and approval limits, keep financial information confidential and report suspicious transactions.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Previous experience in cashiering, bookkeeping or junior accounting is an advantage.
• Honest, organized and reliable, with good time management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and numerical skills.
