Junior Accountant

About the role

Nova International General Contracting is seeking a Junior Accountant to support accurate financial record‑keeping and reporting for its construction projects. Working under supervision, you will help ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies while gaining exposure to live project environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily bookkeeping: post invoices, expenses, journals, accruals and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Maintain project cost ledgers, cost coding and track budget versus actuals.
• Record project revenue, IPCs, variations and prepare client invoices based on approved documentation.
• Process and reconcile subcontractor and supplier accounts, including advances, retentions and settlements.
• Support accounts payable and receivable, invoice settlement and follow‑up on outstanding balances.
• Prepare journal vouchers, conduct bank, supplier and customer reconciliations and flag discrepancies.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities and financial report preparation.
• Provide schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Accounting certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in contracting or construction.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and MS Office tools.
• Basic knowledge of UAE VAT and local regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a project‑driven environment.
