Junior Desalination Engineer

About the role

ENGIE Middle East, part of the global low-carbon energy group, is hiring a Junior Desalination Technical Engineer based in its Dubai headquarters. The role sits within the engineering and technical departments and focuses on learning desalination technology and building expertise, reporting to the Head of Desalination. It is a full-time position with no staffing responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a key representative of the Desalination Centre of Excellence (DCoE), coordinating with desalination plants across the ENGIE fleet and serving as the central interface between the DCoE and operating assets.
• Contribute to the development of DCoE technical tools, methodologies, guidelines and reference materials, and to the knowledge management workstream, including collecting and structuring operational and technical data and monitoring performance indicators for benchmarking.
• Coordinate and animate the Desalination Networking Group, sharing lessons learned and organizing technical exchanges, workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Contribute to selected research, development and innovation programmes, including technical studies, pilot testing and assessment of emerging technologies.
• Support bidding activities with desalination technical expertise during tender preparation and review.
• Support projects integrating desalination with other energy technologies such as CCGT and renewables.
• Support the visibility of the DCoE with the Communication Team on events, conferences, publications and presentations.

Required profile

• Graduate (1 to 2 years after school).
• Engineering background; good technical understanding.
• Fluent written and spoken English; basic Arabic is a plus.
• Experience in the Middle East is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and organization skills, able to work independently.

The role involves potential travel to GCC assets. The schedule is full time.
