Junior Research Scientist – Behavioral Institutional Design

About the role

The Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (C‑BID) at NYU Abu Dhabi is looking for a Junior Research Scientist to support its interdisciplinary research program, including a new partnership with the International Fund for Animal Welfare. The role involves designing and programming surveys, recruiting participants, conducting fieldwork in the UAE, and contributing to data analysis and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design, program, and pilot quantitative and experimental surveys using platforms such as Qualtrics.
• Recruit participants and manage fieldwork logistics across the United Arab Emirates.
• Prepare and submit research ethics applications and ensure compliance.
• Perform data cleaning, management, and statistical analysis.
• Draft reports, presentations, and academic papers based on research findings.
• Provide ad‑hoc administrative support for C‑BID projects, events, media, and outreach activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a social science or related discipline.
• Less than five years of experience in experimental, behavioral, or survey research.
• Strong quantitative background and fluency in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
