Junior Research Scientist – Psychology

About the role

The Perception and Active Cognition (PAC) Lab at NYU Abu Dhabi is hiring an Emirati Junior Research Scientist for a 30‑month fixed‑term position. The role supports a collaborative project with the National Academy of Childhood Development, focusing on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and linguistics.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in study design and stimulus preparation for experiments involving Emirati participants of all ages.
• Conduct data collection across NYUAD and NACD facilities.
• Perform data analysis and contribute to interpretation of results.
• Collaborate closely with NYUAD researchers, NACD stakeholders, and local communities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, or a related field (master’s preferred).
• Experience or strong interest in psycholinguistics, developmental psychology, or neuroscience.
• Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and strong communication skills for interacting with Emirati participants.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.

• Computational skills for data analysis.
