Junior Sous Chef – Luxury Collection Resort

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Sous Chef to join the culinary team at Ajman Saray, a Luxury Collection Resort. In this role you will support the Executive Chef in delivering high‑quality dishes, maintaining presentation standards, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of cooks and kitchen staff.
• Design and execute decorative food displays and plating presentations.
• Monitor portion control, food garnish, and overall quality of dishes.
• Communicate menu specials and out‑of‑stock items to Food & Beverage service staff.
• Prepare special meals, substitutions, and assist with various cooking tasks.
• Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies, track stock levels, and log food safety records.
• Support hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of kitchen personnel.
• Adhere to all safety, security, and company policies, reporting any incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant culinary experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a kitchen environment.
• Ability to work extended periods standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lb, and performing repetitive motions.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Expertise in food presentation, garnish, and decorative plating.
• Inventory management and stock monitoring.
• Effective communication with service staff and team members.
