Kitchen Equipment Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Kitchen Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for delivering corrective, reactive, and planned preventive maintenance across all Americana‑owned or leased restaurants, offices and commissaries in the UAE. The role ensures that kitchen and related MEP services operate efficiently, safely and cost‑effectively while upholding Americana standards and values.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to reactive complaints and preventive maintenance requests within SLA timeframes (4, 12, 72 hours) and gather required spares within 24 hours.
• Monitor purchase order jobs and coordinate with malls/brands as required.
• Perform or supervise planned preventive maintenance, including external vendor oversight.
• Conduct monthly store inspections and corrective maintenance visits.
• Reduce reliance on external vendors by repairing equipment in‑house and limiting spare part replacements to necessary cases.
• Advise supervisors on major repairs or required changes.
• Support continuous improvement of customer satisfaction and personal skill development.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma (preferred).
• 2‑5 years of experience in restaurant and general maintenance, preferably in QSR or hotel environments.
• Strong hands‑on experience with kitchen equipment and MEP systems.
• Good knowledge of the UAE market for parts availability, authority regulations and mall/landlord requirements.

• Maintenance of kitchen equipment (fryers, ovens, grills, refrigerators, dishwashers, ventilation systems).
• MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems.
• Hood servicing and fire protection system monitoring.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
• Spare parts management and vendor coordination.
