Kitchen Supervisor

About the role

The Shift Supervisor position is operational in nature and involves supervising team‑member activities on shift to ensure standards around people, product, cleanliness, and an exceptional guest experience are fulfilled.

Key responsibilities

• Lead by example, treating every team member and guest with respect.
• React immediately to issues requiring attention during the shift.
• Provide ongoing, specific direction to team members.
• Encourage a fun work environment while motivating the team to meet goals.
• Train, orientate and monitor new team members.
• Report team‑member performance to the Store Manager.
• Assist in ensuring optimal coverage and work various positions during busy periods.
• Prioritise guests, reinforcing positive hospitality behaviours.
• Respond to guests promptly and with appropriate urgency.
• Handle guest complaints quickly, turning negative situations into positive outcomes.
• Comply with and enforce all Tim Hortons operating standards.
• Ensure product and packaging are properly merchandised and stocked.
• Manage shift cash procedures and maintain operational efficiency through the work schedule.
• Supervise team members to ensure primary and secondary duties are completed.
• Enforce store policies (cash, meal, break, food‑safety) during the shift.
• Stay current on new product launches, promotions and discount schemes.
• Assist the Store Manager in driving sales and transactions.
• Complete required shift documentation (waste records, manager walk‑through, store checklist).
• Escalate any issues or problems to the immediate superior.
• Follow safe work practices, wear required PPE and report injuries or unsafe conditions.
• Supervise technical equipment, count cash at shift start and ensure adequate change.
• Receive payments by cash, credit cards, vouchers or automatic debits.
• Issue receipts, refunds or change correctly and maintain clean checkout areas.
