Kitchen Technician

About the role

The Kitchen Technician is responsible for responding to guest repair requests and maintaining all kitchen‑related equipment and facilities at the hotel. Working independently, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues, and ensure compliance with safety and local codes.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication and visual inspections of tools, equipment and machines.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves; use Lockout/Tagout procedures before work.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and communicate daily activities to other shifts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, plumbing and HVAC drawings.
• Repair and replace equipment such as pumps, motors, air conditioners, refrigeration units, pool heaters, plumbing fixtures, electrical switches and outlets.
• Utilize engineering software for preventive maintenance, energy management and MEP troubleshooting.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and perform Engineer on Duty duties as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. with vocational/technical background.
• At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience.
• Extensive experience in general maintenance, electrical or refrigeration, and parts inventory.
• Valid driver’s license and Universal CFC certification.
