Kitchen/Laundry Technician

About the role

The Kitchen/Laundry Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing kitchen and laundry equipment throughout the hotel, ensuring safe and efficient operation while minimizing downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on ovens, fryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers and other back‑of‑house equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating and refrigeration faults and replace defective components.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns from Kitchen, Stewarding, Housekeeping and Laundry departments.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, faults and parts used.
• Follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures, using appropriate PPE.
• Support engineering team and external contractors during equipment servicing.
• Monitor equipment performance to identify energy and cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or vocational qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, HVAC or related field.
• Previous experience in hotel engineering or commercial kitchen/laundry environments.
• Ability to read basic electrical diagrams and equipment manuals.
• Good problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently and in a multicultural team.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
