Laboratory Coordinator

About the role

The College of Technological Innovation at Zayed University is seeking a full‑time Laboratory Coordinator to support faculty and mentor students in hands‑on IT and computer science labs. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, the coordinator will guide students through tutorials, assignments, and scientific inquiry.

Key responsibilities

• Assist faculty in designing and delivering hands‑on lab tutorials and assignments.
• Supervise scheduled laboratory sessions and provide on‑site guidance to students.
• Evaluate and grade lab reports and tutorials as requested.
• Coordinate with the laboratory technician to ensure resources, customizations, and safety standards are met.
• Teach one CTI course each semester and hold regular office hours.
• Mentor students on special projects and support the ZU Cisco Regional Academy when needed.
• Proctor mid‑term and final exams upon request and provide feedback to instructors on student progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Minimum four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• At least one year of lab or teaching‑assistant experience in an academic setting (preferred).
• Arabic and English bilingual ability is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of programming languages, web development tools, databases, mobile programming, networking, and virtualized/multi‑OS environments.
• Desirable certifications: CCNA and Security+.
